Concept Ideation
Opto Technology has a comprehensive phase gate development process that is made up of Concept Ideation, Design and Development, Production Assembly and Quality Processes. The goal of our development process is to bring our customers ideas to life.
During the Concept Ideation phase, we work with our customers to understand and capture their technical and commercial requirements. Once we have this information it is reviewed by our new business development team to assess if Opto Technology can meet these requirements.
The preliminary work for the new business development team involves some or all of the following steps:
- Technical feasibility
- Preliminary cost analysis
- Preliminary proof of concept prototypes
- Preliminary optical, thermal or mechanical modeling
The outcome of the process is a formal proposal detailing the scope of work, product specifications, schedule and costs which include piece part cost, tooling and any Engineering development costs.
If the customer decides to proceed further, we will start the Design and Development phase.
