Opto Technology started in 1973 as a  company focusing on complicated sensing solutions for applications ranging from microfiche sensors to high speed mail sorting equipment. As the company grew, we expanded our sensor product line into the biomedical arena in applications such as Blood Analyzers, DNA Thermal Cycling and Urine Analysis. In the most recent years, Opto Technology has leveraged its 30 years of experience in LEDs and optics into the Solid State Lighting Marketplace.

Opto Technology's focus in the solid state lighting market place is in Marine, Airfield, Medical Equipment, Analytical Instrumentation, UV / Visible Curing and Illumination.

Opto Technology Inc. was founded in 1973 by William Hegberg. We are Located in a 20,000 square ft. state of the art facility located in Wheeling, Illinois, a northwest suburb of Chicago.
