Excelitas is an industry leader in the design, development and manufacture of custom power systems to meet the most demanding Defense and industry specifications and environments. We create custom solutions where low noise, high density and custom form factors are required. Our NPI FUEL product development process ensures success by following a rigorous phased-gate development process focused on identifying then retiring design risks in the earliest stages of development. Once the design is complete, we will continue to provide the highest levels of service through our lean, AS9100B certified production facility and dedicated in-house Depot support team.

Excelitas has the experience to develop solutions to a broad range of power system types:

  • AC - DC Rectifiers:
    • Single phase and three phase inputs with power factor correction, ranging from 100 watts to 5000 watts
    • Line current harmonics in compliance with naval and international requirements.
  • DC - DC Converters:
    • Input voltages from 28V to 320V
    • Single and multiple outputs ranging from 10 watts to 2500 watts
    • Packing densities up to 110 watts per cubic inch
  • Pulsed Power:
    • Designed specifically for pulsed applications such as RADAR transmit modules
    • Provides extremely fast transient response so that the traditional bulk capacitor may be eliminated from the system design
    • Very low noise outputs
    • Packing densities up to 50 watts (average power) per cubic inch
    • Excelitas also supplies a linear finishing regulator to switch the power into a RADAR transmit module.
  • Uninterruptible Power Systems (UPS):
    • Single and three-phase input
    • 48 VDC output, 1 kW and up
    • Sealed lead-acid and Lithium-ion batteries
    • Designed for rugged naval environments.
  • Optoelectronic Systems:
    • IR illuminators based on Xenon lamps
    • 20 watts up to 6000 watts
    • The smaller illuminators are packaged as a hand-held flashlight-like device.
  • Other Unique Power Solutions:
    • Excelitas Power Systems’ experienced engineering team can provide solutions to other unique power needs.
    • The Excelitas Power Systems team can utilize other Defense team centers of excellence in Energetic Systems, Sensors, CCD Cameras, LED and Lighting to create high performance systems
